A
positive mind finds a way it can be done; a negative mind looks for all the
ways it can’t be done. – Napoleon Hill
Choosing
to be positive and having a grateful attitude is going to determine how you’re
going to live your life. – Joel Osteen
I love to run and run and run! When I run, I enjoy beautiful sunrises and I think
A LOT. I am combining these two
activities and calling it “Run Think”.
Sometimes Run Think is good and sometimes Run Think is very
defeating for me. For example, I can
think about beautiful sunrises, be thankful for the opportunities I have had,
dream about my future or pray for situations, family, friends, etc. However, I can also go negative during Run
Think. I often think about various
situations that I am dealing with. A
truly small situation can be a full blown “war” in my mind by the time I get
home from a run. I can leave my
apartment wondering why I did not receive a response to a text or email I sent
and by the time I get home I am ready to end any communication with someone or
think that they hate me.
Recently, I had this issue and contemplated why things
happened. I talked with a couple friends
and was told that I was overreacting, overthinking and just needed to
relax. Once I let it go, stopped
processing it over and over in my mind and relaxed, I was able to calm down,
cast my care and move on. That evening,
everything worked out and live is grand again!
Often times, we allow our minds/brains to go negative
because we do not think anything good could happen to us or that anything good
should happen to us. These negative
thought patterns cause us stress, make us feel discouraged and affect our
eating habits, sleep patterns and overall attitude in life to name just a few
things.
We all deserve the best in life and do not need the added
stress that these negative thoughts cause.
There will be times that we will experience trials in life and we will
wonder why certain things have happened, but as I can honestly say I know that
all things have worked out for my good and I believe that will continue to be
the case for the rest of my life. We
have to stay positive and know that the best is yet to come!
Challenge: Are
you allowing your mind to create negative thoughts and control you or are you controlling
your mind by creating positive thoughts? It is your choice what your mind thinks. Today and everyday think positive thoughts.
Create a list of positive things to speak out loud daily to
encourage yourself and create the positive mindset we all need to succeed in
life!
