One of the
hardest productivity issues the author has tried to conquer is the television
and it has been very difficult for her.
Both January and February, the author started the month with the goal of
not watching television except for knowledge purposes and tried to find other
activities to keep her occupied; however, loneliness, boredom and mental
fatigue were some of the reasons she did not accomplish her goal. At times, she would beat herself up for not persisting
and accomplishing her goal, but finally decided her best option was to limit
the amount of television she viewed and target more programs that were
uplifting, encouraging and educational. With the time she was not watching television,
she would read, go on excursions and meet new people.
When trying to
find ways to become more productive, we need to review the things that we have
been doing to determine if we should continue, limit or completely stop the
activities. Completely stopping
activities can be very difficult if there is not something to replace the
activity as the author learned.

Simple, small
changes will help with productivity and help refocus the reader as they work on
accomplishing their dreams and goals.
ACTION: Review current
tasks to determine if there are any activities that should be stopped or
limited in your life and determine what will replace those activities so that
you will be successful in making the lifestyle changes.
