After reading Mindset by Carol Dweck, I decided I wanted to
change to the growth mindset. It is easy
to try new things, but it is just as easy to resort back to the negative
mindset. When we are in transitions, it
is important to notice the changes in ourselves even though we may not see a
complete change.
Recently, I had to deal with a situation where I was not in
control of the situation and had to deal with what other people told me to
do. I’m an individual that likes to be
in control. The situation arose one
afternoon and I processed it overnight.
The next morning I went to work, explained the situation to my boss,
confronted the individual that caused the issue and then implemented the plan I
had come up with. After everything had
occurred, a friend told me to think about how I handled the situation. In the past, I would have run the opposite
direction, not confronted the situation and let it “eat at me” for a month or
more. Instead, I took control and made
the best of the situation. It may not
have been the best situation that I was placed in the middle of, but everything
worked out well.
What situation are you in the middle of right now that you did not want? How are you going to turn it around, make the best of the situation and grow to become a more excellent lady in our society today?
