Terri's Tuesday Tip of the Week - August 26th

Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle. – Napoleon Hill

Do you ever have those days when you are so frustrated by a new task or skill that you just want to give up?  Do you ever sit at your desk/laptop and wonder why you are the one having to complete the task?  Do you have those days when you don’t feel adequate to be able to accomplish a task?
I read an article last week that put this in perspective for me.  Think back to where you were a year ago.  Look at everything you have accomplished in the past year.  A year ago you didn’t know how to do the things you are doing today.  You didn’t sit back and do nothing.  You went after it with motivation, passion and a positive mindset to accomplish it.
Taking on new challenges and developing new skills is extremely important for our growth and maturity in this life.
What new challenge/task will you take on this week?

P.S. Take some time to relax and refresh over the wonderful Labor Day Weekend.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Austin, Texas....

Terri's Tuesday Tip of the Week - August 19th

Terri's Tuesday Tip of the Week - August 12th

Change of Perspective…

Yesterday was my birthday…since I turned 30, I have absolutely hated my birthday thinking about what I dreamed for my life and analyzing what I have not accomplished based on what I wanted.  Previously, two weeks before my birthday I would get depressed, despise my birthday and would be in the worst mood.  About 2 weeks ago, it started.  I started crying, was upset and did not want to live for the next 2 weeks.

Last Monday, I had a change of perspective.  After 20+ years of working at a company, my sister was released from her job.  When I talked with her over the weekend, she was doing amazing and ready for the next chapter of her life.  I am so proud of her.

After talking with her, I analyzed my life and realized how blessed I am.  I have an amazing job and have had amazing opportunities that many people only dream of.  I have 2 legs that allow me to run every morning, I can eat as much chocolate as I want, don’t have to worry about my home being bombed or wonder where my next meal will come from.  When I realized how amazing my life was, I changed my perspective and decided to have a great birthday.  I can’t change the fact that I turned another year older, but I can determine what my mindset will be and decide how I am going to help make other people's lives better.

My challenge to you today is what is your current mindset and motivation…Do you need to change yours?

Have an awesome week!

Terri's Tuesday Tip of the Week - August 5th

Do you get frustrated sometimes with the mundane daily grind of life and feel completely unmotivated?

Here is a word of encouragement from Zig Ziglar:

“People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.”

My challenge to you is to find what will motivate you each morning.  Here are a list of ideas to help motivate you:

1.       Write down your goals and review them each day to remember the big picture for your life.

2.       Create a dream board to remind yourself of what you want to accomplish in life (Check out this website to learn more about Dream Boards: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Dream-Board).

3.       Before you get out of bed in the morning, think of one thing to do toward your goals.  After 30 days of doing one thing, you will be 30 tasks closer to accomplishing your goals.

4.       Ask a friend to assist you.  Having someone to talk with can be an encouragement when you are down and they can also be someone to help develop a solution to a problem.

5.       Dress for Success
·       I think clothes are very much a representation of your attitude and the way you feel. I really love to be dressed down, though. -Trey Songz

6.       Smile…it motivates you and makes life better!
